Mark Gonzales was born and raised in
Brooklyn, New York. He received his degree
from Hunter College where he studied with
Vincent Longo and Anthony Panzera. He
continued his studies at The Art Students
League of New York. The most influential
instructors at ASL were Sherry Camhy and the
highly respected painter, Ronald Sherr. Mark has received
numerous awards including the Edward McDowell travel
grant, second place in the Artist's Magazines annual
portrait competition and the Certificate of honor from the
Portrait Society of America. Mark is currently working on
portrait commissions and also assists the advanced
drawing class of Anthony Panzera at Hunter College.
